Dr Charis Costopoulos is a highly esteemed and experienced consultant cardiologist who specialises in both general and interventional cardiology. His main areas of expertise include coronary artery disease, chest pain, palpitations, breathlessness, heart failure, and valvular heart disease. He performs a variety of interventional procedures including coronary angioplasty (stent insertion), transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), MitraClip implantation and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure, amongst many others. Dr Costanzo is an expert in dealing with common heart-related issues (angina or chest
tightness, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizzy spells, blackouts). He also undertakes a broad range of key-hole heart interventions, including coronary (heart arteries) angioplasty, stents (to relieve angina and provide improved blood flow to the heart muscle) as well as the treatment of heart valve problems (particularly for the aortic valve, for which he performs TAVI procedures to replace damaged aortic valves).
